EPHE BASELINE SURVEY

Is there a difference between high and low socio-economic groups when it comes to behaviour and related determinants that may favour overweight and obesity?

Studies show a possible correlation between parental socio-economic status and obesity and overweight in European children. This first baseline survey identifies the environmental determinants that impact energy balance-related behaviours, on 4 topics. The sample was divided in 2 groups, based on the education level of the mother, as indicative of socio-economic status.

Discover how socio-economic inequalities impact the prevalence of overweight en obesity with regards to diet and (in)active lifestyle.

The baseline survey will be completed with 2 follow-up studies, evaluating the impact of specific interventions to target disadvantaged populations. More to follow soon!
